Online Ad Spending Expected to Increase

According to eMarketer, most advertising sectors expect to see a decline in 2009, but many experts predict that the online sector will see substantial growth. Myers Publishing, predicts that the online sector, 12% of the advertising market, will grow 2.7% in 2009.

Oppenheimer and Co., JupiterResearch and Borrell Associates estimated that the growth will be even higher for online advertising growth. Their estimates stand at 21%, 14.8% and 7.2%, respectively.

Myers believes that most of the growth will come from search (8%) and display (1%). Online video and social networks are expected to see even more growth with an increase of 25%
